We want you to look and feel your best for your session because your confidence will shine through in your photos. Our goal is to capture the essence of you and your family. Pictures are great to decorate your house, send with holiday cards, birthday gifts and more!

Here are some quick tips and suggestions, as you get ready for your fun photo session!

{ General Tips }

Decide on a theme: Do you want to have dressy or traditional photos? Or do you want to capture the casual, playful, vintage, edgy, funky, unique or playful?

Get some good rest, eat something and stay well hydrated. Believe it or not, crankiness can show up in pictures!

Dance, run, skip, twirl, do kart wheels… anything that helps you have fun, be yourself and laugh a lot.

{ For the girls }

Pick out clothes & accessories that accentuate your eyes and make you feel amazing. Stay away from big strips and patterns. Instead, consider wearing soft pastels, as they won’t overpower or take away from your face. Add layers and texture. Girls, consider wearing super sexy high heels and cute chunky jewelry.

Cool Jeans are an American standard. You can’t go wrong with really cool jeans and a nice top

Cute shoes: high heels are always fun with jeans!

Makeup: try going a bit more drastic with your eyeliner or mascara, but don’t over do it! Carry some lip gloss with you to keep your lips looking luscious and flirty

Jewelry: Chunky jewelry is trendy now; Target always has a great selection of in-style jewelry and other accessories. Here’s a link for more ideas on how to wear and where to find chunky jewelry.

{ For the guys }

Cool Jeans are an American standard. You can’t go wrong with really cool jeans and a nice top! (avoid logos, plaid, thick stripes, and busy patterns; we want the focus to be your face, not your shirt.)

A solid collard shirt is always a good pick.

Bring your chapstick – we don’t want dry, cracked lips!

{ Couples & Families }

Thinking about getting all Match-Matchy? Thinky-think again. Unless you normally wear white shirts and jeans, try matching colors that go well together instead. Check out “How to Choose What Color To Wear” and “How to Coordinate Your Outfit.”

Dress: casual or dressy? Make sure everyone is one or the other!

{ Newborns & Babies }

We love to capture newborns and babies in their birthday suits! It creates a timeless picture. Have your favorite onesie on hand; hats are always cute!

{ Toddlers & Kids }

We can have a bit more fun here! Feel free to add more color & big patterns

Pretty dresses for girls

Layers and textures like sweaters & jackets, stockings

Accessories: Hats, Ribbons, funky rain boots, tiaras, tutus, jammies, favorite super hero outfit or princess outfit

{ Location, Location, Location!}

Your backyard, your favorite park, the beach, the forest, or downtown… Pick a location that fits your family or a place that you frequent. Don’t think too hard! We can capture some great shots in almost any location; you’d be surprised! An open field, and old building or barn makes great backgrounds. If you’re not sure, let us know! We have LOTS of ideas and we’d love to share!

{ Posing }

We’re not going to tell you to put your hand here, turn your head this way and smile. We love to capture genuine interaction with your friends & family. Of course, we’ll have lots of suggestions on where to sit or stand, but we encourage natural, comfortable positions. Warning: We love to direct! You may feel like a star actor on a movie set…
