I had such a hard time picking out just a few pictures for this blog post! There were so many cute photographs to share. If you want to see more, you can watch the slide show. As I’m going through all the wedding pictures from this past Saturday, this one caught my eye.  It’s funny how every one has a different opinion on which photo is their favorite; many times it changes each time you look through them! It was raining, and at one point it was definitely pouring! Despite the weather, we decided to go ahead and do the family photo shoot of Samantha, Taylor & Wyatt — It is a surprise for their mom! Their dad Brian, who also happens to be my cousin, watched the DVD Slideshow from Dave, Christina & Thea (Dave and Brian are twins) and thought a DVD Slideshow would be the perfect gift for his wife’s upcoming birthday.  The storms rolled through and he called to see if we should still do the photo shoot. Well, I’m up for anything – rain or shine!  (as long as it’s at least 32 degrees…. however I DID take some photos of Janell at 17 degrees…)  Sometimes those circumstances make for a great story and as a result – great photographs!

Brian, Samantha, Taylor & Wyatt:  I had so much fun with you guys!  I loved running through the wet grass in my bare feet with you and capturing some really fun sibling interaction.  I hope you can keep the birthday surprise a secret for just a little bit longer!  (especially you, Wyatt!)

Future Hollywood Star? Meet my cousin Clay Acker – recent graduate of Gannon University. Clay has Hollywood in mind and asked if I could do a few headshots. A few? We ended up with 191 to choose from. Overkill? yes. But I wanted to make sure he had plenty to choose from; this kid has a million different expressions. We also took some showcasing his 6-pack, but I decided to keep it family-friendly here. Good looking, talented – keep your eye out for this future star!

I had a blast doing a photo shoot with the Winner family last Tuesday Night! Brian, Elicia and 8 week old baby Leah have some absolutely beautiful property, including an awesome pond, just outside of Cochranton.  Leah did so well, and their 2 dogs were so great with her, they love her! We enjoyed the early evening in the sun, and finished the night by moonlight and Brian & Elicia taking a brave jump in their pond – SO MUCH FUN!!!

Last night it was such a pleasure hanging out with my cousin Dave, his wife Christina and foreign exchange student Thea from Denmark  (no, not Norway… not Belgium… Denmark. It’s the Nordic country that’s just south of Sweden, Norway and Finland. Dave and I were there about four years ago with the band we work with; the country is beautiful as well as it’s people.

I invited them over a bit early to have supper with us; we had hobos on the grill and brownies for dessert. YUM.  (If you’re interested in booking a session and we do the photo shoot at my place in Saegertown, ask about me cooking you supper too – I just might!)

Thea has only a few more weeks until she flies home, and last night proved to be a great opportunity to take some family portraits! Thank you Dave, Christina and Thea for yet another fun photo session!

Congratulations Josh and Laura!

I had such a great time taking photographs of Josh and Laura. It was a beautiful night – but really sunny! I felt sorry for their sensitive eyes!  But eventually the sun went down and created some great soft lighting.  I hope you guys had fun driving around the golf cart!    Thanks for not running me over…

I asked Laura a few questions about her engagement – here’s the story behind this beautiful couple:

How did you meet?
Josh and I grew up 4 miles apart. We attended the same elementary high school and even shared some of the same friends. We did not start dating until after college when his best friend (who is marrying my cousin) and my cousin set us up.

How did you become engaged?
Josh surprised me while we were golfing at Country Meadows [Venango, PA] on August 12, 2009. We were on the 5th hole and I was attempting to putt when he offered me something to help me out. I turned and he was down on one knee with the ring in his hand!

Trish and I photographed Kylie’s senior portraits in the fall and her mother Heather asked us to get some shots of her family too! We met at Stainbrook Park in Saegertown and got some shots in and around the hugeungous (just made that up) gigantic tree there.  Did I mention it was FREEZING?  Did I mention it was SNOWING? Do you see their happy faces? Deep down inside, I’m sure they were all thinking, “Ok- let’s go inside where it’s warm!” They were such a FUN family to shoot; thank you Heather for another fun adventure!

Despite a dismal forecast, Friday night turned out beautiful for outside pictures! Tradition calls for prom pictures at Stainbrook Park in Saegertown and I was excited to get a few photos of my “baby” cousins Kaitlin and Josh. Here are some photos I snapped while weaving in and out of moms, dads, grandparents and younger siblings. I love paying attention to detail because for prom, it’s all about the dress, hair and forever friends.  Enjoy!

I met Heather and her mom and sister in Erie at the Tom Ridge Nature Center. Dave and I took Cali a few months ago and it looked like a great spot to take some portraits! The center closed at 6 – so we stayed outside and around the building. We then headed over the Beach 1 on Presque Isle State Park to take some more pictures. Despite the temperature of the low 50’s – (or was it the low 40s? big difference….) Heather kept smiling!  I’m sure she spent the rest of the evening trying to warm up.  After dumping all the sand out of my shoes, I hopped in the car, cranked up the heat and had it on full blast most of the way back to Saegertown!

I had such a lovely time with Heather – a future photographer in the making. I loved so many pictures, but had to narrow them down to a few.  Here are the ones I picked for you — enjoy!
